ENGINE INSTALLATION

2011-2020 RZR, Ranger, Turbo 900-1000cc models

Topline offers these startup/installation tips to insure your engine will last!

1) Make sure all oil lines, oil coolers are completely flushed out. Engines that failed previously may have left over contaminated oil that will destroy your engine or start premature engine wear, causing these engines to fail prematurely.

2) When installing the clutch or magneto, do not turn the engine over counter clockwise! This will cause the chain to lose tension, causing engines to be thrown out of time.

3) When installing your flywheel, make sure to clean off all mating surfaces with brake cleaner. Left over oil or residual, can cause the engine to shear a flywheel key.

4) When installing gaskets, make sure they are installed dry! Do not use any form of case sealant.

5) Before starting your new engine, add oil, remove the spark plugs and turn the engine over for approximately 60 seconds to make sure everything is primed. This will help lubricate all engine internals and pressurize the system.

6) Bleed the cooling system. Engines can overheat in a matter of minutes causing early engine damage. Before starting the new engine, make sure there is no air left in the cooling system. Locate your bleeder screw, fill with antifreeze and crack the screw, repeat the process till you no longer have air, or bubbles. Pure antifreeze should be flowing out.

7) Once the engine is installed and running, check for leaks. Take a can of carb or brake cleaner, spray it around your intake and all seams, if your engine starts to idle up or down by spraying a certain area, this will be an indication of a leak that you will need to address.

(Important side note for 2011-2012 RZR 900 Dry sump models) Make sure your oil lines are hooked up correctly! You will have in/out marking on the cases and your lines. These will result in immediate failure if your lines are backwards.

2006-2017 RZR, Ranger and Sportsman 700-800cc models
